On 30 November 2021, the regional organisation of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), for Asia-Pacific (ICA-AP) held its hybrid 15th Regional Assembly in Seoul, Republic of Korea, ahead of the 33rd ICA World Cooperative Congress.
This event was attended by more than 130 participants from 20 countries – Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Jordon, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Palestine, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Discussed was the administrative issues and conducted elections of the new ICA-AP Regional Board. Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, was elected President, with Cai Zhenhong (ACFSMC, China) and Dato Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah (ANGKASA, Malaysia), joining him as Vice Presidents. The ICA-AP Regional Director, Mr. Balasubramanian Iyer, highlighted the key activities carried out since the last Regional Assembly in February 2021.
