ICA develops formal partnership with Ius Cooperativum Association

25 Jan 2024

The ICA and the Ius Cooperativum Association, an independent network of cooperative lawyers, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to advance the knowledge and practice of cooperative law.

The MoU was signed by Dr Ariel Guarco, President of the ICA, and Prof David Hiez, President of the Ius Cooperativum network. The negotiations were led by Prof Hagen Henry, Chair of the ICA Cooperative Law Committee, and Santosh Kumar, ICA Legislation Director. While the Ius Cooperativum Association is mainly composed of academics, the ICA thrives on the knowledge and expertise of practitioners. The central motivation for the formal agreement is to combine efforts and expertise to further the research and practice of cooperative law for the benefit of ICA members while working on newer challenges and issues in cooperative law. Ius Cooperativum publishes one of the most important peer-reviewed journals in the field of cooperative law, the International Journal of Cooperative Law, and leads the organisation of the International Forum on Cooperative Law.
