A dedicated website for the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and Cooperatives of the Americas Global Conference and General Assemblies has been launched, so delegates can find all the information they need in one place – with registration open now.
The events, which will be hosted at the Conference Centre in Panama City, will take place between 13-18 September, with the conference adopting the theme Building Bridges: Cooperative Contributions for a Peaceful World.
The website – www.icapanama2026.coop – includes information on the conference and general assemblies of the ICA and Cooperatives of the Americas, as well as a provisional programme, list of speakers and details of associated side events. The site also includes logistics information, including visa requirements and practical guides to accommodation and transport.
“The website is a one-stop-shop for ICA members to plan their trip to Panama,” said Jeroen Douglas, ICA Director General. “The Global Conference and Assemblies are a vital space for cooperators to meet in person to examine the strategic role of cooperatives in addressing global challenges, strengthen international networks and partnerships and share insights from diverse regional and sectoral experiences.”
This is particularly important on the back of the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives, as the ICA begins implementing its 2026-2030 strategy (Practice, Promote, Protect) and with the ongoing need to explore the contribution of cooperatives to peace and inclusive societies.
Douglas added: “We look forward to welcoming cooperatives and cooperators from around the world to Panama to take part in these important conversations and help shape the future of the cooperative movement”.
The website, which was designed and developed by Argentinian cooperatives Coomunicaar and CoopArSI, will be regularly updated as the programme is finalised. Meanwhile, registration is open now!
